Merry Christmas, Baby by @LiviaQuinn is a #HolidayRomance gem! #bookreview #IARTG

Title: Merry Christmas, Baby: Larue (Storm Lake East Book 4)

Author: Livia Quinn

Genre: Contemporary Romance, Holiday Romance

Book Blurb:

It’s a Christmas weekend full of love and Larue social media is a twitter at the return of their hometown movie star, Ducane Beauregard Larue, and a visit by Raptors quarterback, Gino Manelli, at the only place to celebrate Christmas Eve—the Romanos’. Catch up with the characters from Larue and Thunder Point and as a bonus get a peek into the lives of upcoming characters.

Beau hates Christmas. It reminds him of what he can’t have. He avoids homecomings and the biggest reason is unavoidable this Christmas – Madison Hart, who has loved Beau for most of her adult life. Whenever rumors surface about him returning home, Madison hyperventilates at the prospect of seeing him again.

Samantha Larue’s baby is overdue and everyone is hovering including Jed, who ended their relationship last summer because kids weren’t “in his future”.

Bad guys don’t scare Delilah Burke but Luc’s mother and five sisters have her stalling on setting a date to marry the man she loves.

This Christmas, nothing could make Buffy Romano happier than delivering a few surprises and helping the people she loves find love. Then, a Christmas Eve miracle confirms what she already knows – that with a little nudge, all her love ones’ happily ever afters will happen in the not so distant future.

My Review:

It’s Christmas in Larue and everyone is gathering at the Larue/Calloway/Romano households. Sam is pregnant (two weeks late), ready to give birth at a moment’s notice and trying to avoid Jed like the plague. Didn’t he break up with Sam because he didn’t want kids? So why is hovering like an expectant father? Buffy has a surprise for Ridge he doesn’t expect. Luc and Del are engaged but haven’t set a date… yet. Beau returns home to find his ex, Madison, dancing with a former football star and tries to hide his illness as best as he can. Ahhh, life is never dull in Larue.

In this novella, we get caught up on all the couples/family members we’ve gotten to know in the previous Storm Lake: Larue books (including Storm Warning). It’s like a literary family reunion and I loved it. Buffy’s heart is overflowing with love and wants the same for her friends/family. Family and Christmas spirit are front and center in Merry Christmas, Baby which made this a must-read for me.

A note: You don’t need to have read all the books in order to read this one but I highly recommend it. Quinn does an amazing job refreshing the reader’s memory on what has happened and who everyone is. The additions of Madison and Beau kept me turning the pages.

If you love Christmas, you’ll love this feel-good romance! I want to spend Christmas in Larue and spend time with these fantastic people!

Favorite Character:

Beau and Madison. I know, it’s supposed to be one character but there’s a history between them dating back to high school. Beau’s a mystery yet he’s hiding something serious. Being a Hollywood star only amplifies the burdens on his shoulders and coming home to his overprotective family is the last thing he needs. Madison, meanwhile, still loves Beau even though he’s broken her heart numerous times. He keeps hurting her with keeping her at arms length yet it doesn’t change how she feels about him. What these two kids need is a serious talkin’-to… which I hope Quinn will address in a future book.

Favorite Quote:

“God, she was so hungry for him, it was a wonder her stomach didn’t growl. And yet, she steeled herself for his rejection.” – Madison

Author Biography:

A DC native, Livia Quinn moved to the wilds of stormy Louisiana, and with a lifelong fascination (read that: phobia) of lightning, it was only natural that it would play a big part in her world. Her paranormal books take place on the west end of Storm Lake and contemporaries to the east. But that doesn’t mean there’s no magic. What would life be like without a little magic?

  1. I love these characters so much. I’m glad you enjoyed Merry Christmas, Baby. In case anybody is wondering I have a new cover for this book which is displayed on the ad button to the left. I can’t decide who’s next, Beau and Maddy, or Sam and Jed. Beau and Maddy…Sam and Jed. What do you think?
