Today I thought it would be fun to share with you an excerpt close to my heart. Mary is still coming to grips with being the Princess of the Light when her best friend, Penny, calls her on the phone. Mary can hear the fear in her friend’s voice and acts out of instinct.
“Mary, he’s here.” I could hear the fear in her voice, but I was confused.
Penny went silent, and then whispered, “The demon.” The darkness around her wasn’t an aura. It was an evil presence.
Than. This time, his name did not elude me.
This was who Gabriel had warned me about. It had to be.
I clasped my hand over my mouth as I heard Penny drop the phone. Silence. I had to do something. Suddenly, I knew. With my eyes still closed, I stood up and stomped the ground with my feet. The floor seemed to fall away.
When I opened my eyes, I was no longer in my office. I was face-to-face with Penny. The demon was right behind her, arm tightly around her waist.
My head was spinning and I thought I might pass out. Penny went limp.
Than released her sunken form and pointed a pale, bony finger at me. “You will lose, Princess.”
I sensed righteous anger exploding in my veins, and I instantly flooded the room with purple Light.
Than disappeared before the purple Light reached him.
With the demon gone, I fell to my knees and hugged Penny tight. The purple Light infused Penny and her eyes fluttered open.
“Oh, Mary!” Penny was breathless and began rubbing the back of her head.
I exhaled shakily, glad that Penny was okay. The demon hadn’t killed her. Either way, seeing my friend in the arms of such an evil being had made my heart nearly stop cold.
“Are you alright, Penny?” I tried to calm my voice down. Instead, my hands started to shake, too. The aftermath of trauma, no doubt.
Penny nodded. “Mary, what happened?”
I didn’t know how much to tell her. I was in my office the one minute, screaming, and the next minute I was here in this office. I shook my head, didn’t know how to answer Penny’s question.
“I am not a hundred percent sure, Penny. What do you remember?” Maybe Penny didn’t remember anything. Maybe that was for the best.
Penny looked away and made an effort to sit up. I wrapped my arms around her and lifted her upright. Penny said she felt dizzy again, but we managed to make it to a chair. Then, Penny reached for her pink water bottle sitting on the desk and took a drink.
“Just that I called you to tell you about my dream. How I totally believed you as being the Princess of the Light… Then, I saw that demon guy.” Penny paused and closed her eyes. So much for not remembering.
She opened her eyes and sighed. “I’m sorry, Mary, I don’t remember anything after that.”
“I remember seeing you in a vision and then seeing the demon behind you. I screamed, closed my eyes, and prayed. When I opened my eyes, I was here with you.” I held my breath to see if Penny would believe me.
Penny smiled at me and said with a wink, “It’s been quite an afternoon!”
I hugged my friend. “I am so incredibly glad that you are okay, Penny.” I straightened up and began to feel a little dizzy, too.
I closed my eyes and reached my hand out to steady myself. The desk wasn’t there and I felt the blackness take over. I felt like I was falling, but I was too weak to fight it, so I gave in to the feeling and realized that I was fainting.
I never faint.
My eyes fluttered open after a moment and I was disorientated. Where was I? I looked around and finally realized I was back at my office, sitting in my own chair. I leaned back in my chair and noticed the phone was still clutched in my left hand.
Had it only been a vision?
Dizziness flooded my head. I sat straight up in my chair and focused my vision on the phone. The dizziness soon subsided and I put the receiver back down.
I glanced up to see that it was five minutes after four. I sighed and reached for my purse. Time to go home.
