Society for Paranormals by Vered Ehsani

4-in-1 boxed set. 380+ reviews. Lara Croft meets Jane Austen in colonial Kenya.

A paranormal detective refuses to let danger, death and unwanted suitors inconvenience her in the small town of Nairobi. These are the first four cases in the “Society for Paranormals” series, where African myth meets Victorian manners. If you adore “Pride & Prejudice”, appreciate British humor, enjoy paranormal cozy mysteries, or would love to experience adventure in colonial Africa, then get ready to start your supernatural safari.

Ghosts of Tsavo (Case 1): Armed with Victorian etiquette and a dead husband, Beatrice Knight arrives in the small colonial town of Nairobi desperate for a pot of tea. She’ll need more than that if she’s to unravel the mystery of the Ghosts of Tsavo without being eaten in the process.

The Automaton’s Wife (Case 2): Beatrice Knight’s dead husband has absconded with an automaton, but she has other problems: a killer has moved into town. As luck should dictate, who should be the next target but Mrs Knight herself?

Revenge of the Mantis (Case 3): Beatrice Knight’s arch nemesis is about to pay an unsolicited visit. Mrs. Knight must now answer one critical question: what, or whom, is she prepared to sacrifice in order to defeat the Mantis?

The Fourth Mandate (Case 4): Just when she thinks she’s free of the Society, Beatrice Knight must face her past, not to mention a demented dwarf. Fortunately, anything is manageable with a pot of tea and a fully loaded walking stick.

The Medium (Emily Chambers Spirit Medium Book 1) by C.J. Archer

Seventeen-year-old spirit medium Emily Chambers has a problem. Actually, she has several. As if seeing dead people isn’t a big enough social disadvantage, she also has to contend with an escaped demon and a handsome ghost with a secret past. And then there’s the question of her parentage. Being born an entire year after her father’s death (yes, a year) and without the pale skin of other respectable English ladies, Emily is as much a mystery as the dead boy assigned to her.

Jacob Beaufort’s spirit has been unable to crossover since his death. It might have something to do with the fact he was murdered. Or it might not. All he knows is, he has been assigned by the Otherworld’s administrators to a girl named Emily. A girl who can see and touch him. A girl who released a shape-shifting demon into the mortal realm. Together they must send the demon back before it wreaks havoc on London. It should be a simple assignment, but they soon learn there’s nothing simple when a live girl and a dead boy fall in love.

The Siren’s Dream by Amber Belldene

Murdered by a bullet intended for her beloved, Katya Dvoynev’s fate is to haunt the building where she took her last breath. That is, unless she can lure her killer into her clutches and find the vengeance her mara spirit seeks.  But destiny has other plans, and handsome Nikolai Zurkov arrives instead, filling Katya with a desire so strong she must fight to remember it’s revenge she seeks, not love…

Investigative journalist Nikolai is on a mission to bring down a corrupt corporation responsible for so many deaths. If the gorgeous ghost who enters his dreams holds the key, Nik has no problem sharing in the seductive beauty’s nightly encounters. But when he discovers Katya’s intent is murder, he’ll do anything to keep her from getting blood on her hands. For only true justice can give her the love she longs for and keep her in his world.
