Stay positive and happy. Work hard and don’t give up hope. Be open to criticism and keep learning. Surround yourself with happy, warm and genuine people. — Tena Desae

What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?

I ran across this quote the other day and it really inspired me. It sums up how to live a happy, successful life. Thank you, Tena, for putting into words what it means to live life to the fullest.

Take my advice and be positive, work hard, never give up hope, keep learning new things and surround yourself with encouraging, happy people.

Friday Book Round Up

Friday Book Round-Up Update:

Last week I asked you for help in choosing which book I’ll bring with me on vacation. There were plenty of great responses and after much thought, I decided to go with A Knight in Shining Armor by Jude Deveraux. I know it wasn’t on my list and I’ve read it a zillion times but it’s a classic and it will allow me to escape.

Friday Book Round-Up is on hiatus (vacation) but will return August 4th.

Thirsty for Water Banner

A Freebie:

As we’re about to go on vacation, we thought we’d give everyone a free book. Thirsty for Water is a mega quick story about a high school girl and her paranormal encounter with a little boy from Africa. It has a good message and is a clean read. No swearing, no adult situations, even little kids would like it.

Blurb —

Juliet can’t wait to graduate from high school and finally move on with her life. Five more days and she’s free. She gazes out the window while her history teacher, Mrs. Johnson, drones on about war, famine and lack of water in Africa.

A gong rings, startling Juliet out of her daydream. She looks around to see if it was one of her classmates pulling a prank when a little boy carrying a spear appears. Is he a ghost or something more? He pleads for her help and before she can argue, she is transported to a small village in Africa. History comes alive like never before and Juliet must decide how she can help Noko and his village before it’s too late.

Thirsty for Water tells the story of Africa and the need for water in an approachable way for children of all ages. A great learning tool for teachers, parents and libraries.
