Encouragement

Have you been going through a rough patch and second-guessing yourself?

We’ve all been there and know exactly what you’re going through. It’s tough and the only way to get through it is to persevere. You may be feeling like you want to give up but trust me, it’ll get better. Don’t give up!

Last year, as many of you know, we published a poetry book entitled Poetry of Love: The Engagement Year. Its basic premise is our real-life courtship from the day we got engaged until our wedding day. MR N was working 18 hours a day and we hardly saw each other. He expressed his love and our struggles through poems. We collected them and published them last Fall.

Sunday we woke up to discover our poetry book won the following award:

finalist

2017 IAN Book of the Year – Poetry Finalist Award

We were so surprised! It was so unexpected because most of the awards were announced the previous weekend.

Winning this award encouraged me in ways I can’t express. See, I’d been struggling with self-doubt about my writing. I was having a hard time making the stories come out and while it’s not writer’s block, it sure felt like a dead end. I kept wondering if maybe I should just concentrate on building our author promotions business instead of writing. Then this award appeared and my doubts fled. A panel of judges deemed our writing worthy of an award.

There are many of us who are discouraged by life and suffer in silence. We’d love to ask for an uplifting comment but are afraid to ask. Encourage someone today. Encourage more than one person today. Your words of support will give that someone a much-needed boost of confidence.

Encourage one another and change someone’s life!

n-n-light-book-awards

Welcome to the First Annual N. N. Light Book Awards! We’re thrilled to announce the winners of our awards but wanted to thank each author for entrusting us to read and review their book. Granted, we didn’t enjoy every single book we’ve read this year but we personally know how difficult it is to write and publish a book. We hope our honest reviews helped in some way.

Out of all of the 200 books we’ve reviewed this year, it was almost painful for us to choose just one winner in each category. So without further ado, here are the winners:
